
Last night after dinner I walked the edge of our back pasture with Jonah (faithful ranch hand/wonder dog) and found Skeeter and Roo enjoying some of the spring time green up. This time of year it is a mix of rye & cheat grass with a good amount of weeds. With a little more rain and heat, the more tasty Coastal grass will start to jump up and be ready to cut in 4-6 weeks if all goes well….we are still holding hay back from our last cutting – 2 years ago. The effects of last year’s drought remain fresh in the mind…
