NYC – The High Line Park

Helen and I visited NYC the last two days as part of a job interviewing process I am going through. We were lucky to spend part of the afternoon visiting both Central Park and The High Line Park. All images in this collection are from the High Line which is the remnants of an elevated rail line used to transport meat, produce and other supplies in the early 20th century. Back in 1999 this remaining industrial eye sore was about to be demolished. However, a few with vision stepped in and proposed a radical idea – why not turn it into a 3rd story park that traverses the Westside of NYC?

I love the paint cans left by the artist at the bottom of the graffiti mural on the first image!

Best part… the greenery in the middle of concrete & brick was spectacular, but the company was even better.

All images captured with the Fuji x100 and shot while walking on the High Line.
