Since visiting Helen’s sister, Anne (aka – the wild horse whisperer), on my trek to work in Idaho two weeks ago, I have had some time to sort through more of the images. Shooting in RAW sometimes poses it’s challenges. The trick in your postprocessing workflow is to not “pixel push” too much and try and maintain some consistency so that the images are similar. Hopefully, I achieved that with this set. Shooting jpeg would just not do these images justice – the contrasts towards the end of the day were strong with bright highlights and subtle tones of the desert – hard to reproduce without going HDR… definitely pushing the limits of today’s DSLR sensor.
My favorite image is the last image which was a candid I caught.
Captured with: nikon D4 @ 400mm, various shutter/iso settings.
